FAQ (back to top)
How do I join the online sessions?
Upon joining the main Zoom room, you will be put into a waiting room where we will confirm that you are a registered guest before letting you in. Please make sure your Zoom name matches the name you registered with. If you would like, feel free to put your organization in parentheses after your name!

To join our Gather.town space (Student Research Poster Session and Startup Showcase), all you need is the following password to access the space: mitsportslab2021

Can my computer or mobile device handle the virtual event?
All events will be held on Zoom except for the Student Research Poster Session and the Startup Showcase, which will be held in Gather.town. Zoom events can operate on both computers and mobile devices, but we ask that you use a device associated with the name you registered with for entry. Gather.town is capable of running on a computer with Chrome or Firefox, but is not compatible with mobile devices. For more information on Gather.town, please visit our How-To guide!
Can I share Summit links with other members of my team?
To ensure privacy and security, we are limiting the guest list to those who are currently registered, and we would greatly appreciate it if you refrained from sharing links. That being said, having your colleague(s) enjoy the event from the seat next to you is more than welcomed!  Please reach out to sportssummit2021-contact@mit.edu with any specific questions.
Trouble joining Zoom or Gather.town?
If you are having any troubles joining the event on either platform, please email sportssummit2021-contact@mit.edu.
Who can join the Alumni Talks?
All current MIT students are welcomed! Please be signed in with your MIT Touchstone here to join.
Who can join the Roundtable Talks?
This event is private and invitation-only for select industry guests.
How is the Interactive Session on Gather.town different from the Viewing Session?
The interactive session is a time for student researchers and startups to present their work to the Summit community. We wanted to give people the ability to join the Gather.town session all day if they would like to just view the posters without the students and startups necessarily presenting, so we have baked these times in before and after the Interactive Session, labelling them “Open for Viewing”.
How can I contact the Research Talk presenters?
Please send any inquiries to connect with research speakers to sportssummit2021-contact@mit.edu.
If I cannot use a device with the name I used to register, what do I do?
Please email sportssummit2021-contact@mit.edu and we will connect with you ASAP!
Will the event be recorded?
Out of respect for our industry guests and to encourage candid conversations, this event will not be recorded or publicized anywhere. You may not record any of the content presented in this Zoom or live Tweet, Facebook, Instagram, or use any other media source to record, publicize, or post information internal to this event.
